Portals: help centers, communities and ideas boards

Publish your content on public sites with their own address: a Help Center, a changelog, a community or an ideas board.

Updated

Your content now has a public home. A portal is a website on its own address that shows your content collections. You're reading this changelog on one.

What's new#

  • Portals in the Build section of the sidebar. Create a portal by choosing its type, its starting collections and an address.
  • Three portal types: Articles for a Help Center, docs, news or a changelog; Community for discussions and questions; Ideas for feature requests with votes and a roadmap.
  • Your own address. Every portal is served at your-address.help.chat. Add a custom domain such as help.example.com on the Domain tab with one CNAME record, then select Check DNS.
  • Rules per collection. Each collection sets who can post, reply and vote, whether new posts wait for review, whether an answer can be accepted, and the stages of an ideas board.
  • Members. Visitors sign in with their email and a 6-digit code. Choose who can read and take part, and whether people join openly, with approval or by invitation.
  • Moderation. A new Moderation tab in Content collects posts waiting for review, open reports and recent replies.
  • Chat and branding. Show one of your deployments' chat widgets on every portal page, and add your logo, accent color and header links.
  • Agents that read your portals. With Portals under Knowledge, an AI agent can search the published content of your portals.
