# Open the chat with a question from your page

> ask() opens the chat with a question in the message box, and hosted pages turn their opening questions into buttons.

Your page can now start the conversation for your visitors.

## What's new

- **`ask()` in the widget.** `HelpAI.ask('Can I change my plan?')` opens the chat with the question in the message box, so the visitor can send it as it is or edit it first. Add `{ send: true }` to send it for them. The first version, 1.7, always sent the question; 1.8 fills the message box by default, so nothing goes out without the visitor.
- **Opening questions as buttons.** On a deployment's hosted page, each opening question is a button that opens the chat with that question ready to send.
